IBM Records Most U.S. Patents



A total of 4914 patents in the year 2009 obtained on behalf of IBM. Large numbers, is not it? Most patent record is successfully achieved IBM for 17 in a row.

Along with this announcement, IBM also offers a knowledge of software invention and patent portfolio management to clients who want to improve the management capacity of intellectual property rights (IPR) in order to support innovation-based growth. Such knowledge would be useful to effectively evaluate their patent portfolios, identify opportunities for new patents and business align closely with their intellectual property strategies.

Here is a list of U.S. patent recipients in the year 2009 the most, according to IFI Patent Intelligence sources:

Are all inventions created IBM's patents? Not really. Around 4000 technical inventions in the same year it was not protected by patent rights. As a result, the findings are available free to all users. IBM released the findings through a publication that proves its commitment to improve the patent.

In this case, intellectual property experts and patent IBM has been developing and using management software patents for more than ten years to help them analyze, evaluate, and administer the portfolio (consisting of 30,000 more U.S. patents).

"We present the management of software patents, and knowledge of our intellectual property as more and more clients come to us to learn more about how to create and manage intellectual property portfolios and their patents," said Kevin Reardon (General Manager, Intellectual Property and Research Vice President Busines Development , IBM).

Through supply and management of intellectual property rights of patent, IBM will provide knowledge that can help clients plan, create and exploit their intellectual property portfolio of existing and new. The clients are also helpful to assess the ability of IPR infrastructure, identify potential discovery opportunities, and create a portfolio of Intellectual Property Rights.

Access to Lotus Notes version of the software management of IBM's patent portfolio currently available to its clients through the deal of knowledge. For its Web version is still under development for launch in second half of 2010. IBM will provide access to expert consulting services and license intellectual property team to help clients develop a plan to meet the needs of individual clients who are interested in using the software.
